Actually, your first impression on entering the tomb, at least for me, was to realize how small it was! And then also the lack of much wall painting. There's only a few paintings--the most impressionable was that of Aye and the "Opening Of The Mouth" ceremony.
To realize his mummy is there is rather a strange feeling, too. I understand it can now be seen. Then, it could not--only his outer coffin in the sarcophagus, which is covered with glass. Of course, it was quite empty. All of the treasures found in the tomb have been taken to Cairo. I'm not sure how much of the tomb is open to the public now.

Osiris2, it surprised me that you resurrected a topic from so way back, especially since you found the enclosure rather small and not all that interesting. However, you mentioned the mummified body was still there, but not in the sarcophagus?

Basically, I re-opened this posting because, after scrolling through a lot of comments on different subjects, this was the one that had the latest posting!

Let me provide you information about it as I been there.
Yes it's one of the smallest tombs, but if you've seen all the King Tut stuff in the museums, you have to see to the tomb. Where did they fit it al!!??
Whilst there aren't a lot of paintings, the ones that are in here are beautiful. Tut himself is in a glass cabinet with only his head and feet showing from beneath a white cloth.
Wouldn't have missed it for anything!

I agree. I remember it had the most expensive entrance fee in the valley, even if many other tombs have more complicated corridors and chambers. Tut is also not the greatest Pharaoh. His only advantage is the treasure found in his nearly intact tomb
