I have just been watching the film "MRS HENDERSON PRESENTS" on BBC1, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was so well acted and directed; the music was good; and all through the film, there was something about the story that made me wonder whether it could be based on real life.
It was more than that in that it was the actual real life story of the Windmill Theatre after Mrs Henderson had bought it in the early 1930s. I read about it on the internet afterwards. Some of the people who played there went on to become stars in their own right.
In the internet article it stated that the film had rave reviews, but that it was not a commercial success. The latter is sad to read and I don't understand why it was not a success. I was impressed with Dame Judi Dench and with Bob Hoskins (the two main actors) and all the others played their parts well.
There are some recently produced films that are a success and so many of them are like drivel to me.
I would like to know your opinions of this film too. |

| It is sad that nobody here has heard of, or watched this film. I have noticed that wherever I go, nearly everybody has heard about, or watched, the popular violent films. :( |
