You probably don't
Its too far from your bed to get worried about unless you know someone from the Phillipines or have seen this volcano yourself .
The Mayon volcano in the Luzon Philippines is about to erupt again :
Manila August 9

For weeks, beautiful flows of lava on the slopes of the Phillipines' Mayon volcano have enraptured onlookers. Here, villagers and sightseers watch on August 1 as the volcano undergoes a mild eruption.
:?: Have you ever been so close to an active vulcano you could smell it and not stand the power of the odour ? |

I have never been anywhere close to a volcano, but seems like a beautiful scene from far away
I bet the strong pungent smell is of the sulphurous gases coming out with the lava |

Hoss the smell is bad when you are a smoker or when you have astma
I have been close to one in Indonesia I hiked up one mountain to see the crater in the nearby mountain but could not smell anything , in the Phillipines it did not bother me was too far away but in Hawaii I was able to get close to lava flowing and the heat and smell made me back off , because I started to feel very unwell
