I'd like to do a different travel in Wgypt ( also if I don't know when I can do it ).
I'd like do :
Cairo like arrival, and then Alexandria, Fayoum, Siwa.
Another trip :
Egyptian oasis : Kargha, Dakla, Farafra.
From this tour I think is better to arrive in Luxor.
Now I ask you :
- is safe do this trip with friends but without a tour operator ?
- how much to rent a car for 10/15 days ?

Safe, YES
Without tour operator, no problem as long as your friends can talk Arabic
