Mr LG has started working in Makadi Bay...... what is it like..... what's Hurghada like.... better than Sharm, prettier, quiet, hectic, expensive?

I know there are a lot of Russians..... hopefully I will be with Mr for a week soon...... tell me what I need to know. It's 4 years since he was in Hurghada..... so many things will have changed.

Flight prices are looking good too! Are you in Hurghada?

Makadi Bay is far from Hurghdada about 35 km, so if you are working there, is not so easy to go in Hurghada every night.
Makadii Bay is very nice, calm, but like I said, it is far from all funs.
maybe if you want to say, in what hotel is him working, I can say you more.
I've been in Meridien and in Fort Arabesque hotel in Makadi Bay.

From visiting Sharm, my experiences of Russian tourists is that the women are cheap and the men are greedy, and they drink, a lot! Also they like to wear as little as possible in the sun, as they all think they are super models........

Apart from that, is Hurghada more expensive than Sharm? I am used to Alexandria prices.....

Hurghada is more cheaped than Sharm also I like more Hurghada than Sharm.

About women : I think all depend from how is your man. If he is a serious man with you, I think he will not go around looking for another woman also if he can see much beautiful women.

Yes, true, in Hurghada there are much Russian women but also Italian women and you know : Italian women like Egy men so what do ?

Nothing.....to have a distance lovestory is always a risk......The only thing I can say to you is : keep your eyes well open always, to be sure he loves you and you are not only a Visa, to be sure he is not already married.

hi lace girl,
I found hurghada a bit too seedy, but it is more 'egyptian'that sharm,as for russians, well it is a holiday resort and one could say that about germans too.
Just take it easy, what belongs to you will remain so.(old pygmie saying!)

Lace,
Hurgada is probably cheaper than Sharm, because it is basically a city where lots of residents live, and where there are some close by cities like Ras Gharib, which is mainly based upon the Oilfield jobs...
Hurgada is still more expensive than other cities of Egypt, being a touristic place, where demand on quality services is higher in a relatively remote city....
About what tourists in general wear, it all depends on what is allowed on the beaches or even within the resorts...In general "topless" is allowed, so its nothing uncommon, and nobody who goes to the resorts is surprised to see it on beaches....

I don't really have info about Makadi Bay, but perhaps other people who have been there can be better sources of info...

Kamar,
I believe Lace is already married and she is joining her hubby in Makadi Bay..So there is nothing to fear about her from men

Good Hoss, I hope if she is already married with him, he will be a good man but I'm sorry if I say but.....I saw much Egy men, married with an Egy woman or married with foreigner women, to have other foreigner women while the wifes are not with husband.......so, what you said mean very little.....

Like I said before : all depend if he is really a good man or not.

Hi Lacegirl,

Yes I live in Hurghada. What can I say about it?

There are so many buildings, half built, three quarters built, finished etc. that I sometimes wonder if it will ever be finished!

Compared to say Luxor, yes things are more expensive. Of course it does depend on where you shop. The local fruit market is so ridiculously cheap and the fruit and veg are so much fresher than the shops that it is worth visiting once a week.

Butchers - well I have found an excellent one. We had the best steak since coming to live in Egypt. The cost has gone up because of the lack of fresh chickens but I don't think 32 LE for a kilo is extortionate.

Apartments - well as you can imagine, there are new ones available every week. It very much depends on what you want and which area though.

Weather - glorious. Not as hot as Luxor as we nearly always have a slight breeze.

Water - cannot be beaten!

Makadi Bay - Very quiet with nothing in the immediate vicinity. All hotels provide their own transport for both guests and employees.

If there is anything at all I can help with just let me know.

Moll - Yes I disappeared for a while but back for 3 weeks before I fly to the UK.

Harrison - 32 LE for a kilo of meat not expensive ? ?

for people like me from England it is cheap as that equates to about £3.50 - but to Egyptians surely that is quite expensive. Don't many, for example teachers, only earn about 50 LE a week ?

So I suppose it depends on how well off you are . . . . . . . . . .
