HI All!
when you call people who dont answer their phones or who dont bother to reply your sms,who dont keep time in this country of ours,or who think that every white woman(or man)is sexually starved,or who are so arrogant,ignorant and self centered??most(not all)Egyptians you meet have no kind words for their homeland ,Some times you wonder whether This is The egypt that is in the history books,or what you step on when you are in a gutter,I hope iam proved wrong and i hear some positive words from patriots .

Not exactly sure what you're offloading about though :? People not replying to you, or Egyptians not being feeling good about Egypt....

I was actually thinking about having a bit of a rant about MY country, sometimes I get SO fed up with idiot political correctness......

But if you're looking for replies from 'patriots', maybe i should leave it to Egyptians to reply

I personally have respect for the people who contact me and I also take intiative by keeping in touch with good friends...
As for patriotism, it makes me sad to see disorder and traffic mess...It also makes me sad to see how people have been driven by their personal interests and neglecting human relationship and respect for others...The absence of respect to any law creates more and more violators everyday...This is all frustrating many people...Even the majority is silent when it comes to voting in elections...I personally have tried and try to challenge this negative attitude with people in my circle of contacts, but there is always many people to bring me, or anyone who tries, down...I still try :roll:

well as a patriot :)

i tell u egyptians are friendly they welcome u be generous with u.. but they dont trust new comers easly!!!...
so even if they smile at ur face , they still want to feel safe dealing with u.
so its just they treat u with limits untill they( after some time) love u alot or hate u alot...

and take care tht every action u make , make the receiver suspecious!!!

also people differs, u may find x friendly but Y not!!!... and so on!
u may unlucky guy and find all the people u saw a Y !!!!!!!

Dear moll&lolypop,
thx for your attention,iam a man,yes,who happens to have a lot of western associates,men&women who complain a lot about the gross harrasment they get from a lot of of the locals(not all of course)And as iam in their company most of the time,i have the misfortune of Dealing with the hasslers who can be a real nasty piece of work,i could go on and on,but i dont wish to be reminded so i wish you all a nice evening,and i pray to the almighty to keep the hasslers from you,Amen!!

I guess what you're saying is true, but it's true for some few people, who specialize in hassling tourists...They call those people " kheretly", and they hang around where the tourists are...I say that those people are low life and by no means represent the majority of egyptians...I also believe that in each country you can see those kinds of people who want to rip-off or take advantage of tourists...Something to mention is that there is an entity called " Tourist Police", and they are monitoring all those people and they arrest who they believe to be hassling tourists.... i personally was driving a american colleague/friend to the train station to take a train heading to Luxor, and was approached by some detective in civilian clothes who inquired about my relationship to my friend...So there are people who keep an eye on what's happening to protect tourists from any possible fraud.
