:) Well a quick look on the net brought this up
This one about the Pharaoh:
http://www.christiananswers.net/dictionary/pharaoh.html
And this about Abraham :
http://www.christiananswers.net/dictionary/abraham.html
We are not told the name of the pharaoh in Egypt during a time of famine who took the lovely Sarai into his house, for which plagues eventually fell upon Egypt (12:14-17).
More here;

:) Hey , best of luck with your studies let me know if this was of any help to you ?

There is no definitive answer to this as we don't know. The Bible always talks about the Pharoah which is like talking about the 'The White House' it doesn't tell you which President. Egyptian records just don't record things like that. Anything outside of Egypt is ignored and anything foreign inside gets the same treatment.
If you have been asked this question as part of your studies I would assemble the evidence for each possible answer and then give your considered reasosn for a final selection. That is probaly what your teacher is looking for. Research, analytical study and reasoned conclusions rather than an answer |

This is not exactly true. Ancient Egyptians traded with neighbooring areas like Caanan/Israel..etc. Such foreigners were documented because of tax purposes. Something we can do is examine Near-eastern archaeology,texts and documents with contemporary kingslists in contemporary Egypt. The history and chronology of Egypt is not as concrete as many think,for it depends upon mainly the various annal stones,papyri,tombs and kings list of Manetho.
The average commoner in Egypt,wheather foreign or indigenous, was not allowed to even see the pharaoh. If Abraham exist then he must have been a foreign ambassador of some rank to have direct contact with the pharaoh. |
