Here in, I write my reactions after watching by a coincidence a Senate Hearing to have a new 3 Star General for the Allied Occupation Forces in Iraq, George Something:
First impression, I felt it was a Senate of Emperial Rome, not the Philosophers of Athenes!
Second, It was a theatrical show of a false Democracy to fool the kids of our World, or in other words, to legalize the coming mass killing of whoever think of Resistance to the AngloAmerican Occupation of Iraq.
The Senators were making sure that the newly appointed General will be able to tame the Iraqi people whatever the means he might use.
One of them said: If you gonna take Viena You take Viena, Falluga should be silenced forever. The General said OK, Will do depending mainly on Intelligence data.
I watched the Politicians making sure that their General will be tough on what at times called Enemy when they forgot their prepared lines (foreign fighters & Sadam supporters!)
Third, when I hear the Islamic fundamentalists here in Egypt generalize and say that the US Senators are all jews or at least Loyal to the jewish state and hate/fight Islam, I used to say no, do not generalize, some of them but not all. On that televised hearing on ElHora channel (I rarely watch this Am sponsored channel), I felt all the selected Senators needed that jewish hat on their heads, Liberman and forgot the names of the others.
Ladies/Gentlemen: It is foggy right there in Iraq, the media is severly controlled by Uncle Sam, I like to be rational and have my opinions based on facts. On the above reflections, I am stating whatever could be concluded based on intuition, the common sence of expected Iraqis refusal of a Foreign will imposed on occupied nation disguised as Democracy & Freedom. I had the feeling that those US Senators were skilful Liers, I wanted to believe that they are civilized enough to have good will to Iraq, but my common sence told me No, they are part of the game for an American Empire based on Occupation (using traditional weapons and nuclear if necessary) as it is the only way America could compete with the Rising Asian & Western European Powers!
Yes, America senses the curve of its Intelligencia output becoming flat (reached its maximum) while those two Rising Powers are going fast and closing the gap. (Reference: the American Chemical Society C&EN publication, latest issue)
America about to lose the position of being Technology Sole FrontRunner, hence has no choice but to use its unprecented Military Strength to Prevail!
It is for our misfortune here in the Mideast that America decided to Invade and Destroy our lands to freiten and seige the New Rising Powers!
I hope all I have just mentioned is exaggerated speculation of what we are witnessing, and the real facts are not that gray, rather optimistic.
May be, Sincerely wish if I were wrong!

On a nation-by-nation basis, the long-standing scientific dominance of the USA persists. But analysis of the source of publishing papers by nation indicates that other areas of the world are closing the gap.
Since the late 1980s, growth in the number of scientific papers published by scietists working in the US has been spotty and limited. Since the mid 1990s, there has been no growth at all. Meanwhile, the output of articles from western European nations, combined, has surged past the US total. And there have been really big absolute gains for Asia.
The US accounted for only about 15 % of the worldwide increase in the number of scientific papers between 1988 and 2001. Over this period, the US's share of articles declined in all of the natural sciences as well as in engineering and mathematics.
These are some of the trends that can be confirmed and at least semiquantified by examination of -----------------------------------------.

Now, are we witnessing a sort of a dirty Trade War in Iraq's conquest by the shaky American Empire?
Or, is it an implementation of the Biblical vision of the Am Neocons? to be continued by a Total Mass Destruction of both Syria and Iran in the very near future?

Or, both combined?

I think this Adminstration has turned our hopes/dreamy ambitions into a vague and also depressing anticipation of only Evil acts to be done by a political system that is bankrupt/corrupt not less than any of the type found in thirdworld nations!

You were for most of my youthful and adult years the presentday Athenes that I loved and adored its articulated rational reasoning, but you are now submitting to the War Lords of the tough and violent Rome.
You selected the Mass Punishment of the Mideastern nations combined, a specific religion (Islam) and its associated culture as a revenge for a criminal act done by a gang on 9/11 that you, yes you, once trained and used against the former Soviet Union.
