|
|
In pagan Britian, the equinox - summer soltice - was very important . It was a vital part of the Druid year. (the winter equivolent became the Christian Christmas).
Was there anything similar to this in the Ancient Egypitan calendar? Was Opet and the flood the nearest thing? |

Hate to do this, but the equinox is when, literally, day equals night and fallsin September.
At least Luxor is so near to the equator that there is comparatively little fluctuation in daylight hours through the year. A North European would hardly notice it. |

| The only equivalent to what you speak of is Shem-El Nessim. It's a traditional spiring harvest festival in a modern setting. Very much like Easter in the Western world. |
