ok, I am not a native, but in America we never call it a "man size". I guess this is where the confusion is. There is a pocket size Kleenax (or a travel pack) and box/cube size/shape and a rectangular size. The pocket size tissue should be roughly of the same length, it is the quantity of tissues that differs vs other sizes. The tissue in the latter two sizes is of the same length, whereas the style of packaging differs, with rectangular shape being more bulky in your home than a cube shaped one. |

Yes...Alisa....I stay often in the US as well and they don't have the ....what we call 'man sized' either
It must be that we are the only country that has such large ones..... I can only describe it as as long as an A4 sheet of paper and two thirds wide (thats if you call it A4) the size you put in a printer
We have the small individual packs, the cube, small rectangular, then a large rectangular box....this is the one I don't see any where outside UK.. :D |

Holy, Hedge,
You mean like someone can wrap herself up in that man-sized Kleenax? Never heard of such thing. What do you do with such huge Kleenaxes? |

HAHAHA, Hedge. And the whole world calls us here in America "wasteful"
what is a kitchen roll? And what does a kitchen roll have to do with a bedroom? Sorry I am not really "domesticated" to know all these details |

Kitchen roll...You may well have a different name for it...but it is a roll of paper...not quite as soft as the tissues....you hang it up, or stand it up near the sink.. and you use it to mop up spills, then throw it away..
it can have nice patterns or pictures on it......   |

|  Got it. It is called “paper towel” in USA. Yes, it is truly very convenient. I use it all the time for kitchen, bathroom, mirrors, floors, cooking, cleaning, you name it. Easy and conveniently disposable. |

So is it what they do not have in Egypt? (see pic) Hehehe, a great market opportunity!
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Also, on a different issue, but I keep reading about lack of investment and attention to clean up/waste management in Egypt. It is a profitable industry in USA. All these waste management companies turn trash into cash. Those who believe in value stocks, add companies such as Waste Management, Inc into their portfolios.
Is there such an industry in Egypt at all? If no, why not? If yes, why is it so seemingly under-developed? |

Have you seen the way they collect trash in Cairo..
Well I can say what I saw in Heliopolis..
At the corners of the street they have big green bins..
The people in charge of the different apartment blocks dump the rubbish in them
About midnight the trash collectors come and empty them
Also
During the day there is what we in the UK call a rag and bone man, this is a cart with a donkey and a man...and people run out and put old metal, clothes, and heavy house hold rubbish into the cart...and he takes it off somewhere He goes up and down the street several times a day shouting Bekiya.
The man in my life is in partnership with a friend and they have two large machines that render down old plastic.....eg old chairs...this is turned into pellets and sold back to manufacturers....
I have never seen mechanical street cleaners....A little man at a cross roads with a brush....is all I have seen.. The streets are very dirty
I would say there was an opening for large Kleenex tissues... :D |

oh, wait a second, hold your horses, Hedgy.. let 's do one issue at a time...Let's clear up the first issue. Do they sell paper towels in Egypt or not? No such products available in Cairo, Alex, Hurgada, Luxor, etc? So surprising....
What do people use for such cleaning needs at homes instead of paper towels if such not used? |
