Your Egypt

Just wanted to share my feelings about the bad propaganda that is being done against Egypt, maybe unconsciously....by many foreigners on ES.

Is it possible that people are not wise enough to realize that they are judging a nation based on a bunch of sleezy 'boys' focused in certain resorts/pockets?

I agree. It does bash Egypt and its people. We cannot judge all by gigolos. Also please let's be careful and sensitive when generalizing foreigners visiting Egypt as well, as there are plenty of decent people, who do visit Egypt and/or have not yet. I truly do not like terms like Mini Moscow (a lot of decent Russians cannot even afford a trip to your country or anywhere else for that matter), trashy Brits and Americans, "all foreign women are..." etc It is esp. true of ES, but let's not make this classy forum this way. It puts such a bad light on both Egypt and other countires alike because of actions of a few people, while Egypt has 70MM population, Russia has 147MM, USA has about 250-270MM population. Let's respect one and another, avoid judgements, stereotypes, generalizations, but discover the beauty of individualism in each of us rather than limit ourselves to recognition of a blue print of a certain nation.

It was a thread on ES that aggrevated me..where a member had a *beep* site attached to her profile and was complaining about 'Egyptian boys"...
The thread's name was : WHO knows HIM...and I will try and get Shumza the moderator to delete it because the member insulted me in Polish..big time...
Oh well... :(

Don't get too upset. You cannot compare YourEgypt with ES. They are not even in the same league. You were insulted on ES, I was threatened there by a complete idiot.

Most of us do not trash Egypt - far from it - it is because we love it that we get so angry about the gigolos and conmen that spoil its reputation. (i would still clean up the judiciary though).

Brian, who threatened me on ES (and has threatened others) , has actually been included in an honour line there. Shows how bad things are on ES if that is the best they can do.

Oh dear monica, i started from ES and i really scared from the things i was reading there, i told my boy that r u egyptian ppl really like this?!! :shock: but now i can see the good view of egypt here, a good discussion and lovely ppl, all of over this world we can find good and bad ppl, i can say in most cases the mistake goes to the girls who just falling in love with an internet chat or a short holiday, so they forget their own behaviour and start to blame egyptian men for the result :smt076 it is better to just ignore it, and tell us more about this beautiful country, i am just dreaming to go there soon :farao:

Thanks to all who wrote to Shumza, the ES moderator, the thread on which I was insulted while defending Egypt, has been deleted, along with a few others in less than 2 hours.

Monica, I don't understand why people zero in on the negative threads posted in the other forum. I guess its more exciting reading than more positive topics! It seems like a mini-soap opera going on sometimes.

All our countries can be presented in a good or bad light. A few immoral people cannot possibly represent a whole country and its crazy to think they can. Egypt from what I've seen and learned is full of intelligent, warm, welcoming, positive, loving people with a great sense of humor!
