Monica wrote: More Alexandria...
The second largest city in Egypt, Alexandria, known as "The Pearl of the Mediterranean", has an atmosphere that is more Mediterranean than Middle Eastern ; its ambience and cultural heritage distance it from the rest of the country although it is actually only 225 km. from Cairo.
Alexandria is a city to explore at random. It's as important to enjoy the very special atmosphere, as it is to see the sights. |

I swear to you it is not a trick question. Please send your comments to BBC.com. Thye say it is Alex, to me it looked like Nile in Cairo, but I thought what do I know, I have never been to Egypt

You are correct kat it was probably the person that sent the pic to BBC that had a different name under her pic, amd made a mistake...
.BBC News Online asked readers to send in their pictures of the Middle East. Aminah al-Zahir sent in this picture of a glorious sunset in Alexandria, Egypt.
BUT...that brings me to something quite relevant..
All the threads that I keep posting for foreigners to know Egypt....for real...are LACKING something...he he he..
It means that I have to CLARIFY...the geographical difference between CAIRO and ALEX.....in terms of the NIle and the SEA.giving more details in that repsect..I am looking for a MAP>>>>
very good point kat....
I shall look into that!!! |

Ok I asked my husband to look at this picture and his first comment was, "thats not alex"...as the sun sets over the sea no matter where you are in Alex. and yes Fridaies, :) you're absolutely right about the hotel.
And for Monica, how about starting a new thread dedicated to "maps of Egypt. I will post one here I found but can add it also to a new thread..
