Sorry for spamming the cooking section. There was so much good food that I tried in Cairo...and I would like to try recreating them here.

I went to this awesome restaurant/shisha joint where they served an Omm Ali. It's got nuts, and raisins, and some plaky pastry all lovingly baked in some sugary milky thing...Yummy...And I would loooove to have the recipe. So if someone would kindly post it :D I would be forever in cooking heaven.

Om Ali, literaly the "Mother of Ali" has a very funny history, you can read it with the recipe here:
