The sleek boat racing across the waves
taking off with the power of its engines over the steep slopes
the foamy water underneath it's airborne hull beckon it back
and it cleaves back into the water as if listening
to the whisperings of a mistress
It's hull quivering with the force of natures call
Yet the waves still come on
untamed
The captain feels the rush of the passing waters in his soul
his spirit is free, the engines he is master of, and the moment is his
Another wave looms, and the synchrosity of the engine's noise
rise in deafening roar of anticipation
Once again, the sleek hull glances upwards,
its tautness like a shining missile in the sun.
And again heeds natures call and shudders back in submission
And another wave comes on, the sea untamed
The engines sputter and die, the hull sinks gently to rest
The captain, feels the the sound of quietness in his soul
And knows his mistress the sea , will support him
Even when his engines have died, and gently wave him
like a flag on each passing swell forever untamed
And nature's call is still there, but he now feels at peace with it
no longer crashing down, but feeling the swell and subsiding, Gently
And he longs for home to be like that forgiving sea. |
