1. What colour hair do you have?
2. Do you have facial hair?
3. How tall are you?
4. What is your weight?
5. What is your ideal night out or in?
Sounds like a real chat up I know. LOL  |

Thanks Monica for you sweet words
actually thank you for being here in Youregypt
you are actually one of the main reason it is successful
it is not a compliment; it is a fact. And thanks for all YE members who contributed to such success.
Here you go the answers
hehehe: it was indeed grilling.
1- Youregypt:
The first time I thought about creating an Egypt-related site was about 5 years ago, and that was the time I started creating this website (Yes: it took me 4 years). Back then, forums was not that much spread. But as I compile the site together last year, doing the design and the structure, the idea of a forum jumped into my mind
because a successful site means a user-interactive one.
I thought: ok I got some computer talents, tourism experience and a job that has benefited me: Why dont I do something positive
not just aimlessly browsing the net, and only being a recipient of information
we all browse the net, but how many of us put his footstep.
The idea of youregypt was to present a package
package of everything
language, knowledge, history, landmarks, culture
etc, unlike many other Egyptian sites that usually focus on history or other Egyptian aspects. The idea was to educate about Egypt, its culture and heritage
and to stay as much as possible away from politics
that is why the monthly issues have this socio-cultural taste
2- Managed to be single till now
no guarantees for the future. Do you have a bride for me :)
3- Nop
I wouldnt do it
4- My ideal woman: a woman that knows how to love .. simple.. right?
or so it might seem!
5- Reading: yea, sometimes when I have time. Actually it is much reading that shaped my current character.
6- Beside my mother tongue and English, I believe I can communicate in Italian, and have little knowledge of French, though it is rusted now
currently weighing some Rom language
and I hope, just hope, to learn an Indo-European language.
7- My favorite food: mmm
shrimps.
8- Yep
hopefully next year
I plan to visit two-thirds the countries of North America .. hehehe
9- Latest events in Iraq: You dont want to open that topic, do you? OK:
Iraq will eventually be stabilized
but until then, how many people have to die?
10- Hehe: you have a modest aspiration: I will do more: I will make its YE members form my first cabinet. Dont worry: I will make you my Prime Minister :) |

2. Currently yes
3mm long beard.
3. May be 175 cm - Taller than an average Japanese height, and shorter than an average Scandinavian
4. May be 85 Kgs ... 3 times the weight of my dog :)
5. Ideal night out: Slow sailing felucca in the Nile.

Alisa
dont worry I am so democratic
(as long as Claire is getting me this modeling job )
Here you go:
* Not
I did not study to become a journalist
I entered the field by coincidence.
* The most memorable job
it is awful, but bear with me
[YE members: you dont have to read this part if you dont like sad stories]:
A visit to mass grave in Iraq
I will never ever forget such scene of thousands of bodies/skeletons buried in their full clothes
and family come searching for their loved ones, moving away skulls and skeletons, matching wallets, clothes or even a watch
and a scene of a poor villager trying to prove to me that under the sand I stand there is a corpse of a victim, then he digs to get me a shirt of a man full of bones
Sad news: it is not the end of the story
no body is helping those families recognize their missing loved ones
and till now there are some who would clap their hands for the perpetrators.
* Favorite place in the world: Nothing specific: But If I would think, I think in a countryside lake-view old house with a balcony
with much green space around.
* The decision I made and have no regrets about: many, but the biggest decision was to come back to Egypt in a time good enough to see my grandmother, with whom I was very much attached, before she passes away.

Wow, Raymon. This is interesting. Seeing mass graves in Iraq...Touching story about your grandmother. It is a indeed a decision not to regret about.
A few more questions:
Career:
What do you want to achieve in your career?
You mentioned you chose journalism "by conicidence". what is that "coincidence"? Can you explain to us?
What makes you happy in your work?
Personal Stuff
What are your priorities in life?
What is "love" to you? |

(sorry for long time ... no answer)
Replying on Alisa's questions:
What I want to achieve in my career?
Write a book, but I wish my first to be on my country.
How did I enter the reporting field?
I was just graduated ... and was unemployed for a while. So because of the absence of some employee for some time, and recommended by someone, took that job temporarily, as a translator and assistant. When that woman left the job, I succeeded her. I never planned that career, as I am a tourism studies graduate. I meant to be a tour guide or tour operator ... etc.
What makes me happy in my work?
When I achieve something very few can achieve.
Priorities in life:
My priorities in life: Success, faithfulness and truth.
Love to me: Faithfulness, support and satisfaction. It is so important, because when we are young, we are wild in our love feelings, but when we grow older, the love that we need is translated into those meanings. |
