Suave...he is...a gentleman..always...a luxor lover ..for sure...... he is the discreet man from Yorkshire that pops in once in a while.. but always gives me the sense that he likes it here on YE..
Yorksman...it is your interview... ( we did the random thingy... )
So i will start:
1- Your first time in Egypt...when and why and how come and what?

Just found this after getting out of the habit following shut down.
Here goes then.
First vist, october 1999. My grandmother had recently died and left my mother lots of money!!! She decided it would be a good chance to take me away for a little break. It was her third visit at the time. We lived it up at the Old winter Palace and I developed a lifelong relationship with local Stella. Did the tourist thing a bit- well it was my first time, and found it an emotional rollercoaster. Every little boys dream. Cried at Karnak- my first temple- and sat quietly in the valley of the kings, relfecting how long it had taken me to get there. It's all so much of a universal and timeless conciousness that's it almost too much to realise "Yes... It's real".
It was a wrench to go home and I nearly choked on the plane. But not as hard as the last time.
Luxor is my reality now and leaving is like stepping into a nightmare.
I come from a large family (5 kids) and we spent our childhoods being dragged round castles and museums. I guess i had an historical perspective at a very early age. I can See time, if you know what I mean.
Any questions welcomed.
And, i may be suave, Monica, but i look like *beep* in a morning. (Probably the stella!!) |
