Hi Sandra, :)

What is that one thing that every time you think about it, you smile.

If you had three wishes, what would it be?

2Monica: i wish i knew!!! i have never hunted 4 egyptian men, i have always tried 2 avoid them, when i first came 2 Egypt i liked the country but it was an accident choice of where 2 spend my summer holidays...thats it...the second time was searching 4 the sun in winter)))) it was great 4 me as a Moscowite))) then...i dont know what it was...fate? maybe...i have never planned 2 have an' egyptian bf, i could have never even imagined that! i swear...but love didnt ask me...does only first love act this way or its the usual manner?))))))))))))
i like the culture, i like belly-dancin'...i like ppl, i like YE, i like the sun an' the blue sky...but thats not the only things...so i'm afraid my answer isnt full at all...when we love something or somebody we usually cant say why or what 4...we just love, bein' unable 2 resist...

Sandra, let's switch from the dance floor to politics.

Tell us what is the attitude in the streets of Moscow toward the "orange revolution" in Ukraine?
what do common people think about the events asociated with the presidential elections in Ukraine?
What does the state controlled media vs more independent media say about these events?
What is your personal view?

Sandra,

Ukraine, especially Western Ukraine, simply wanted independence from Soviet Union in the past. Nowadays they want to have their right for self-determination and right to choose their own leaders rather than have Moscow decide their presidency.

Moscow, specifically Putin Administration cited in press as the Kremlin, wants Ukraine to be pro-Russian as Putin is still in his KGB mode and would want to keep grips on his super power ambitions, while many in Ukraine want to be part of the Western Europe, and specifically European Union. Constant stuggle East vs West as geopolitically Ukraine is in the middle of East and West. European neighbors would for sure want Ukraine to be inclined toward their interests rather than those of Russia. European Union will eventually want Ukraine.

Yankovich is pro-Russia choice mostly voted in by Eastern Ukraine, while Yushenko is the choice of the western Ukraine. Yankovich was claimed to be the winner, yet not officially yet. It is said that votes were manipulated. The national congress, Rada, gave Yankovich a vote of non-confidence after his supporters pretty much flooded the streets of Kiev, Ukraine's capital, right in front of Rada. "Orange revolution" term comes from the orange color Yushenko used in his presidential campaign now widely used by protesters in the streets pretty much since December 21 or so. Western Ukraine is majorly opposed to Yankovich allegedly a Moscow choice and installed leader. Ukrainians claim they want to have their own choice free of Moscow imperialistic ambitions. After disintegration of the former Soviet Union, although republics got economic and political independence as soverign states, the Kremlin mingled in its neighbors' affairs all the time. Moscow does not let things go easily. As one movie says, Moscow does not believe in tears, and Moscow (Kremlin) is always the last to cry and admit anything. Western Ukrainians took their right to political freedom pretty much to heart hodling demonstrations every day since December 21, a remarkable display of desire for democracy. I more than applaud them and impressed by their civiil conscience. They deserve their right for self-determination of nations, the idea which was originated by US President W. Wilson in 1918 at Paris Peace Conference where Germany's fate was decided after WWI yet failed back then but eventually contributed to the disintegration of many world colonies, yet this idea is still a lip service on part of major super powers to other countries. The Kremlin would push its agenda to get marginal gains whenever and wherever it can get away with, meanwhile brainwashing the general public through its state-control media. So much for freedom... The current Ukranian President Kuchma can veto the symbolic vote of non-confidence toward the presidential choice as Kuchma is pro-Russia and pro-Yankovich. However, the EU President suggests revote as the only peaceful solution in the current political turmoil in Ukraine. Sounds sensible to me. I hope I did not bore you to death with the recount of the events. But to me it is very interesting, as we have not observed so much political unrest since early 1990s.
