Did it ever happened to you that you visited a place and had a feeling of "deja vu" - i.e. like you have been there B4? Or that you listen to a music or meet someone new who seems very familiar although logic tells you it's for the first time you see them?

Do you have a feeling of having lived before in another country, in another time?

Deja vu? maybe... other lives? not a chance. I guess some people are friendly and easy going that you feel comfortable around or you feel like you already know them even if you haven't spent enough time with them but that doesn't mean you met them in another life

Not only people, but also places. It happened to me to have this feeling in a city I was visiting for the first time, and then to find streets and houses as if I knew they were there...

Last week I went to an esoteric shop to buy "Eternal Egypt" of Hossam Ramzy. The shop assistant, whom I was seeing for the first time AFAIK, came to me and asked "Egyptian music for you?" I asked him "How did you guess" and he said "I just knew".

The spookiest thing I heard is the story of one of the belly dancing teachers here in Prague. She was attracted by Egypt and its music and dance since childhood and she often visits Egypt.

Last year, her grandmother died. She was a single woman with a child she brought up herself - this lady's mother. Just imagine that on her deathbed, her grandmother confessed of having concieved her mother out of wedlock with an Egyptian passing through Prague years and years ago. They had a romance and the man returned to Egypt and left her pregnant. He is probably enjoying grandchildren somewhere in Egypt without knowing he has a daughter and granddaughter in Prague. And that the granddaughter is haunted by Egyptian music and dance and never knew why ... :P

Oh yes, I have experienced "deja vu". I love the unexplained, it fascinates me to no end. Reincarnation goes against christain doctrines, however, I am open to exploring what is,and what is not. I watched a documentary awhile ago that explored Near Death Experiences, all the ppl that had NDE, reported the same experience, long tunnel, beautiful music, white light, however it was not there time, and they were told 2 go back.
Many different points of view were put forward, scientist etc.
Reincarnation is an eastern philsophy, Hinduism, Buddhism. I must say I love the basic principals of these philsophies.

But it is all good

Maybe that sales man saw you looking at something that was Egyptian maybe? Or maybe that's what he specializes in the most? Or it could be just a wild guess ;)
The story about the woman... maybe her genes explain he passion to Egypt? After all she does carry Egyptian genes. On the other hand millions of women love the Egyptian culture and belly dancing and all that. Isn't there a chance that a few of those millions come from Egyptian ancestors whether they actually know it or not? I just don't believe in it and I don't believe it's right... it just doesn't make any sense to me :)

Ya BaNaNa everything must be logic to you  wonder what you'd do if you saw something really spooky and unexplainable by logic?

The sales man saw me as I entered the shop and came to me before I had a chance to look at anything. He looked very unusual for a Czech - dark hair, dark eyes, faintly exotic, so I asked him where does HE come from and he answerd "In this existence, I come from (small town in Czech)" it was so FUNNY.

As for the woman you are right, she is 25% Egyptian, the Nile was calling to her ... funny how she heard the call despite now knowing anything about her heritage... how do you explain this using logic and chemistry, probability calculus and biology, Ya BaNaNa ... I'd like to see that...

I never said everything must be proven by logic for me, but still the reincarnation thing doesn't sound right to me and doesn't make sense to me and it's against Islamic beliefs.
Anyway that's not the point... I never said the nile or anyone called her   all I meant was that if her grandfather was Egyptian then it's very possible that he has passed her -through her mother- some of his genes and it's quite possible that he liked belly dancing and that's where she got it from.

Lori, I might be like banana .. always looking for logic stuff & don't believe in reincarnation things, I don’t bother myself to find answers to non-sense things ... but I cannot deny that sometimes I find myself in situations I’ve been in before .. people I’m quite sure that I met before (even though I DID NOT)

Like you said.. I pass by places (first time in my life) but I know where to go & what I’ll see … I hear some comments from people that I heard before in exact words

I don’t know how to explain that .. I never tried to look for a logic answer for it actually coz I know that I won’t find any ..

I know it’s against my religious believes, but I guess maybe my soul had another life in another period of time before … maybe while we’re unconscious we go through these situations .. human mind is something so hard to understand actually …

I also had these days when I used to dream while sleeping about thing that actually happens as soon as I wake up !!!!! (I remember my brother used to tell me .. stop dreaming, you’re making me afraid)

 well when I was nefertari in my past life, me and hubby Ramses II...................

just kidding, but i have always felt a strange thing for Egypt and everything Egyptian even before I ever visited, but that cant be down to past lives or reincarnation, like banana said its not islamic and not logical. How can you expect to face Allah as who you are/were if you were different people in life? I do think that people have a 'sensitivity' to people and places though and you can meet a person the first time and feel you have known them forever, but thats down to the people themselves and usually how natural they are. Same with the places, you can feel you are 'home' in a place you have only just visited.

will stop now as i am confusing myself

I miss Luxor

Deja vu has some medical experience I think. If we have any doctors around here they may confirm this until I ask and try to find something out.

I was in a mexican city on the borders of the states and it just felt that I had been there before. The faces of the people look too familiar and the buildings and the streets and the cars everything everything. I thought about it later and I realized it's just very similar to streets and neighborhoods in the poor areas here in Cairo. It wasn't a deja vu or reincarnation or anything. It was just a carbon copy of places in Egypt

Everyone has these experiences from time to time.

The point is, do not look for logic where there isn't any :)

A woman I know pays tons of money every months to visit some sort of witch who "uncovers her past life". I think it's a lot of *beep*. And dangerous. If indeed we had a past life and we do not remember it, it means we are not meant to remember it. Why look for it?

This is a thread meant for us having a bit of fun discussing the unexplainable, not really looking for religious meanings of our experiences, especially if there are none.

I am totally frightened by the image of Anubis. I wonder why is that :?:

I do have a feeling sometimes that I have lived a totally different life..as an Egyptian revolutionary ...I'm not the only one that thinks so..a few of my friends think so too about me...
