Today on my way home back from work, the police have stopped my car and they asked for my documents. When I gave them my documents I was asked to step out of the car and to go and see the Chief at the corner of the street. When I approached the Chief, he asked me “ are you an Arab? “. I said yes, I am an Egyptian, so he asked why I am holding a Canadian passport too. I informed him that I have a dual nationalities and this is totally allowed in my country. He asked me why I kill harmless children, citizens and attack schools. I said that I am not involved into politics I work in the Aviation industry and we believe in no discrimination in so what ever color, religion, nationality or man kind. He Said that I do not have a working permit, I said that I do not need one because I am on a Business visa and I am not living permanently in the country and I am on head office payroll. He said you know that I can take you to jail for working in the country without a working & a residence permits and deportee you in addition to black list you for ever.

He called his boss on the phone and informed him about the situation which he has on hand & that he has got a very good big fish. He went on informing him I am an Arab with a faked Canadian passport and without a working & a residences visa. So he hanged on the phone and told me now I can cause you a lot of trouble, especially you are an Arab and it is easy for me to make the news now days. It will be a big scandal for me & the airline I am working for. So I asked him kindly to have another look on my documents informing him that I do not need a working permit or a valid residence because Diplomats, Journalists & Foreign Airline heads in the country do need the mentioned documents. On the other hand he can call the ministry of Transportation and they will confirm what I have just said. You know what was his reaction to my words? He immediately answered back saying that he is not holding any documents for me and that he will state in his report that he found me walking on the street without carrying any identification documents. It is me now to prove to him and his superiors what nationality I am and if I am legal or not in this country, this of course will be done at the police station. You want to know the truth I was shocked, afraid and very sad in the same time. I did not know what to do. I have never faced such a situation in my whole life. Immediately I woke up from my sleep and found my self in bed sweating, scared & screaming, Thank you god it was just a dream and not real, I said. But you do not ever know if it could happen to me, especially after the anger and hate we are facing now days from all over the world as being Arab Moslems. :cry:

So I would like to ask you what should I do if I would face such a situation. And how can I get out of it safely, putting into consideration that all my documents are legal and that the policeman has all the power on me and I am useless? :shock:

I am seeking your advise you nice people? :wink:

It is very sad. Extremely sad. What you did is an absolutely right thing, standing up for what you believe and a human being deserves. Yet, Russia is a lawless country, where a criminal rules a criminal. Police had always had any rights and rules they make up on the spot, even for Russians alike.

You do not talk about human rights and any rights for that matter to the local police in Russia. Shameful advice but practical is to give a bribe without a talk on concepts they do not comprehend and now use the situation to their advantage. I am ashamed of giving this advice, but this is how it works, hate it or love it. Remember, even for a terrorist to sneak through a border it costs $17USD. What insanity! Depends what you choose a peaceful day or dignity.

So sorry it happened to you, the Egyptian!

exactly, i was shocked :pale: thanx god u were dreaming, but if it really happens i guess you just have to spend a night or so in the police station to prove that ur innocent or u got to have an emergency calls ready to ask for help, i don't know really how the police is in Russia, maybe you can make them happy with the money, don’t know!!!(u can do this in iran!)… but it is a scary condition. I just pray for all of us to stay out of trouble. [-o<

TE, i'm afraid u r safe)))))))))) dont get me wrong, but most Arab Muslims in Moscow r "eminent" guests holdin' authoritative posts in different international organizations...so policemen know that its u who can cause them lots of troubles in case they "touch" u) trust me, u will hardly find such a stupid *beep* who has no idea what may come of insultin' a foreign official...

ppl from the Caucasus r gonna have lots of troubles with our policemen these days & the main reason is that most of them usually dont have the documents needed...

one more question, TE, what is the colour of ur car's number? if it isnt white no policeman will ever stop u even if u beg him 2)))

Actually it is a good point. It depends on a foreigner. If you are not a commoner, but a govt official or have a significant position, they will be afraid for their own ass, regardless of nationality. Police only allow themselves to mess with what they can get away with, they will be chickens to make somebody "upset" above them. Always use clout against them even if you are stopped by traffic police and they look for a bribe by making a trafic violation on the spot from no-written laws and rules

This is a biggie. First of all let me state, that I feel for you.
The anger of the Russian People is understandable.
These barbarians have tainted the arab people, which I find so extremly sad.
Your scenario as expained in your post sounds so frightening and real scary, because the possibility that revenge may become eminent. Arabs in Russia at the moment may be ostracized by society and be discrimanated against.
What these cruel sadistic uncivilised coward barbarians perpretrated with absolutely no conscience what so ever against innocent children is a holocaust.
After seeing footage of video which these sick b****** filmed whilst they were holding the children/parents/teachers hostage, gave me a reality check. I am still in a state of utter horror shock and disbelieve, so vile and evil the crime.
Keep well and I will pray for your safety.

Kat, thank you for your concern, really appreciated. That is true money is the key to the local police. I have faced so many times such incidents but with traffic police in driving. It was always the solution to pay to avoid the problems and unnecessary arguments.

But believe me Kat this is happening all over the world not only in Russia. That is why they say money talks.

This can really happen with anyone in the street. I have one male staff that is from Tashkent, Uzbekistan and they stop him nearly every day in the metro. You know what do the police tell him?? You Caucasian man, we will kill you & all of your family after raping your mother and sister. Go back to your country. You are not wanted here. :cry:

Sandra, you are totally right. I can be safe if I am in my car with my driver. I have a Black 2004 A8 Audi car with White plates number X 191 XH 99, and not the yellow ones. Do not worry. I try to avoid driving on my own. But yes the police are scared from such cars, simply because they do not know who they are going to mess around with. Keep safe my friend. But really it is very tough now days to move around as they are checking everyone in the city.

Dreamcatcher, thank you very much for your concern. It is true that all Arab Moslems are in fear now days because of what is happening. But would not you agree that the only people to blame is the Arab Moslems them selves for allowing this to happen under their names and religion. Did you find any leader who is defending Arabs or Islam? Sorry there is no one. I am in deep sorrow for that. God bless you.
