Jag, u r so pessimistic)))

i cant answer 4 the whole world but let me assure u that russian children like fairy tales very much includin' not only folk ones but those from different cultures & countries...most of them know Tom&Jerry as well as Cinderella, Aladdin & others...

from my point of view its a big mistake if mother doesnt school her children 2 readin' fairy tales lettin' them just watchin' TV with all those silly & cruel characters created by somebody's sick imagination... :?

I should think it is good..... but I noticed that Russian TV doesn't give a damn about childrens' programs... Hardly half an hour a day??? needless to mention that most afternoon programs/films are very aggressive.

Sorry Jag. When was your last time watching Russian TV? All the blue films are after midnight and all Sunday morning as cartoons and on the cable there are two Russian speaking cartoon channels 24 hours a day. This is just to for the record.

I do watch Russian TV almost everyday (trying to get the hang of it)...I agree with the mid-night blue films, but I was talking about the aggressive films they show in the afternoon, and also repeating night movies in th morning. I have about 5 or 6 channels.
How many Russian families have cable though??

You will be surprised that most of the families in Moscow have the cable. Now it is very cheap US$ 7 a month.

i cant deny that lots of programmes on our TV r agressive but on the other hand parents r aware of this fact an' those who take good care of their children dont let them watch everything...

most people have the cable TV but its not a panacea...as there r still lots of rather agressive channels an' programmes...actually, i wish our TV would b more "controled & filtered"...

Jag, would u b so kind 2 tell me the reason of ur watchin' Russian TV? i didnt get it..)) do u speak Russian well enough?) thanks)
