Mr. C and I went to our favourite beach yesterday here in Hurghada. I was snorkelling along the reef when I saw a guy walking/jumping in front of me. No problem, back pedal and let him past. Then came a female. Now I kid you not, this woman had silver wedge shoes on. I could not believe it.

After about an hour I was getting a bit tired and headed towards the pier. Another damned tourist with one of his soft shoes off, hitting the coral and trying to hit the fish.

What the hell is wrong with these people? They come to the Red Sea for the water among other things and then have no respect for the reefs/fish. It really makes my blood boil.

Before anyone asks, yes I did say something! I stood up and poked this guy in the back. He was a big fat Russian. I pointed to the reef, mimed hitting it and said NO. His wife was laughing like a drain. When I mentioned Tourist Police he then nodded his head and moved away.

I know I am particularly protective of this reef but it is one of the best in Hurghada. There are so many different fish inhabiting it and some of the corals are exactly as you see on the Wildlife documentaries.

I didn't see my Blue Spotted Lagoon Ray yesterday though, but will keep looking. Perhaps it is too early in the year for it.

Okay that is my rant over with.

Well Moll I am not noted for my placid temper and although only 5' nothing once I am riled, as Mr. C says, my tongue could klip cloots.

I was so bloody angry I didn't stop to think. That is always my problem, I let rip and then think oh I shouldn't have said that.

Besides which, if no-one said anything, before too long our beach would be like so many others, absolutely destroyed.

Get back to the knitting woman, I would quite like an Arran sweater for the winter. Do you think you could manage that?

No problem..............

I'm a bit of a wimp, I just give dirty looks but don't say anything....

But I'm not really getting the silver wedges :? did they bother you because they offended your fashion sense :P or do you mean, she was walking on the reef with them? and wearing it away or something?

You see Ricks, you used deception again to make it seem like you said something valid. But actually you said nothing to contribute to this subject. Deception is a self defeating tool, because it will finally cause yourself to not believe who you think you are

Well Rick if you do not, cannot, or will not, understand the damage hard shoes does to the Coral I don't have the time or inclination to explain it to you.

Unfortunately the class of tourists have gone down drastically and the better off are now going elsewhere. This applies to every nation.

Roughshod - I saw a clip of a film where these bumbling guys broke into a cabin supposedly owned by Bush. He was sitting talking to the guys and said - oh are you those terrorisers? I can't help laughing every time I see the clip as he is noted for his bumbling rambling speeches. I really detest that man.

Harrison, the silver wedge shoes thing confused me a bit as well but I understand what you mean now....

I always thought a reef was under water and you had to swim around it, didn't really get that she was walking ON it.
