You know, I came on tonight and saw something really disturbing. My nick seems to be the last shown in a really lot of topics. When I see that I get very worried and wondered what it was I said...until I see the dates and realize that it may be 2 weeks or so of topics with non replies.

So I thought to myself...Self, you have said stupid stuff in the past, but you have been wanting to be a good man. So here is the challenge, I want you to insult me so I can practice being a good man and see beyond what you say, to realize we none of us bad in our hearts, but maybe bad with communication ;)

I have absolutely no idea if I am able to handle this, but yea, its worth a try.

Saffron, I was looking not to be affected by them. But to see beyond what people say in the heat of the moment, to be able to recognize their worth apart from what they say.

As you will know, 'big jobby' is the ultimate insult in a Scottish playground.....sometimes, when I'm driving along and somebody cuts in front of me, or I'm in the supermarket and somebody cuts me up with their trolley and doesn't even say sorry, I think oh you big jobby :twisted: then I remind myself that I am actually a sophisticated woman of the world......... 8)

Roughshod, what people say in the heat of the moment is not exactly what this topic is about.....sometimes I say things in the heat of the moment and a minute later wish I could cut my tongue out, I think Oh God, how would I feel if somebody said that to me? I didn't mean it to sound the way it did....but the damage has been done.

In real life I think a lot more carefully about what I say than on the internet, which is probably stupid because on the internet, it's there for anybody to see for ever and ever and you can't pretend you didn't say it bcs it's there in black and white.......and even if you delete it (which I try not to do too much :oops: ) people who've read it, will still remember that you said it.....

Oh God, I'm losing the point of all this now :cry:

Why ASK for insults? if you want to test your ability to withstand them, it's not a realistic situation, nobody's saying anything in the heat of the moment........it would be much more realistic to say, OK I want to know what anybody here REALLY thinks about me, and see if you can take the truth :? ........becuse I think what you want here, is not recognising other people's worth, you're asking for validation of your OWN worth.
