| I have an experiment I want to do here; let's all see how long we can go without a fight breaking out? :smt044 |

| It seems an important question you ask, can we lay down our differences in the interest of our well being to tolerate who we are not (edited..I was rambling) |

And I saw your rambles
I was out last night, came in late and I was having my bedtime cup of tea, doesn't matter HOW late I get in, I just have to have my bedtime cup of tea.......too tired to think of anything to say though :smt015
But I thought your ramble was quite interesting, or what I understood of it :P where do you draw the line between biting your tongue and being true to yourself?
I'm well and truly past any personal slanging matches on the internet (I'm assuming we're talking about the internet here) that's just a no win situation and a waste of time......but now, I'm seriously wondering if even a discussion about ANYTHING, even if it doesn't get to the personal stage, is a waste of time when people can't see each other's body language and facial expressions and hear the tone of voice and all the other things that in real life help you to interpret meaning.
Maybe you're better just to stick to posting meaningless crap then your blood pressure doesn't go up... |

You want the human touch to confirm the intuitions of your heart Moll? Understanding is just a way with words you are saying?, you need a real person to see if they are real or not perhaps?
We all are responsible for a forum like this to survive (the forum to survive)even though we deal with real people everyday. So why do we come on here then? What is missing from ourselves that we form pacts and speak our personality into a forum with people we do not even know or on first encounter never have met?
I would say Moll that what we say here is an expression of ourselves and is judged by others who may or may not be qualified to judge what we say. But in the judging we have access to what a diverse amount of people think about us and we perhaps change our sub conscious belief accordingly because we respect the forum as whole...consisting of strengths and weaknesses we have to sort out in our own minds.
This all happens without binding contracts ( like marriage ...or realtime work relationships) and allows one to experiment without get burned in real time. We all take this risk of getting burned in our endeavours to express who we are in a forum, but it is like an online game...one may get shot down but one can just take off again instead of being buried for good
I would say one should be carefull what one says, because it shows respect to others...and in so doing means one has acquired respect for who oneself is.
In those situations like the type I often get into where I am disrespectfull of other, when I am in a saner mind I reLIZE i HAVE TO DO DAMAGE CONTROL, AND REALIZE MY OWN INADEQUACIES....AND....SIGH...BEFORE A BUNCH OF PEOPLE i DO NOT KNOW ....HAVE TO ADMIT IT.
sorry, caps. I always find it difficult to wake up in the morning, think to myself...oh Lord, I posted messages last night....what did I say again( you best realize, I only post when I am drunk mostly, unless doing damage control)
So there you have it, I function normally at day, but at night I drink(trying to make sure it won't affect me the next working day)but it does affect what I post here.
So Moll, I find this forum a sort of mirror , that shows me where I am at in accordance with those I respect and perhaps disrespect. It shows me where I am at, in my own observance of things in the way I answer people, in the way they tolerate me....it is actually realtime in a relative sense
I learn from it, and it affects my real life decisions as well |

Roughshod, I really understood what you were saying here.
I started writing a much longer reply then I started rambling on a bit and got myself tied up in knots thinking about it....
I've learned a LOT about myself from boards like this, and a lot about other people too, people I'd never EVER have known about or met in my Scottish small town existence.......and I can only think that that's good, that my eyes have been opened to a wider world. |
