Today it is absolutely beautiful here. From my office window (yes I know I should be working  ) the shrubs and flowers are blowing gently in the breeze. The temperature is 36 with not a cloud in the sky.

Sunday is going to see me on my favourite beach. The water is very very shallow for about 100 yards and then it is sea fins on, mask down and off I go. The corals and underwater plant life are a sight to behold. This particular beach has it's own house reef which is teeming with a myriad of beautiful fish. Last year (late November) I saw a mother and baby Blue Spotted Lagoon Ray.

How many of you have come to Hurghada?
Do any of you intend visiting?

Everyone have a good day.

Never been anywhere on the Red Sea, Hurghada or Sharm

May here has been really beautiful :sunny: it often seems to be that way, that May is better than July or August, I'm so looking forward to the time when I'm not restricted to school holidays.

I was at a barbecue last night, we were still sitting out in daylight at 10.30pm just wearing t-shirts 8) this is what makes up for the miserable darkness and rain of the winter here......

Well hedgy, you know what it's like here in the winter, whole weeks when you need the lights on the whole time, even driving in the middle of the day you need your headlights on....there has to be SOME compensation

I just feel so much better when I can see blue sky, I'm sure I suffer from that SAD thing

Have you ever been to Hurghada or Sharm, hedgehog?

PS I'm just sitting here posting bcs I've got SO much work to do for school, I don't know where to start :smt022

OOPssss pressed wrong button..

No never been to either.

I need to go some where soon.

I am so depressed I cant stop crying. Its nearly 5 weeks since I had my fall and I still cant walk with out a stick. I just cant face going to the airport I would never make it to the plane.....

The Amsterdam plane is always parked miles from the waiting area. I would need a wheel chair, and then the other end I would need the same. I just cant face it......so I am falling deeper into a dark pit....

Oh don't, hedge :smt058 it'll get better, just give it a little more time...

Being immobile must be hard, when you can't really DO anything or go anywhere to take your mind off things

Maybe I should come to Cairo and annoy you, that would take your mind off it :-k

PS Just having a tea break here, I AM working.

To Moll & Hedgy,

As neither of you have been to Hurghada, this is an open invitation to you both.

Come and see the sights - and I don't just mean the building sites of which there are many.

Despite what some people say, Hurghada actually has some really beautiful parts and a 15 minute drive away is El Gouna.

One thing though which had me boiling mad last Sunday, we went back to our favourite beach and fully expected the price to have gone up. Last November we were paying 20 LE each (including lounger and towel), now they want 50 LE each! I know prices have gone up but blimey that is ridiculous. The problem is that it is the best beach in Hurghada, 100 yards offshore is the house reef and the fish there are a snorkellers dream.

My eldest daughter came for the first time last year and is coming back again for my birthday in November.

Oh well I suppose I had better get some work done. Still no internet at home but a friend is going round this morning to try and get it up and running, so hopefully this week-end. :)
