This is a serious question for the 6 guests who are ALWAYS here but never post..........why not? is it me that's killing this board? wish somebody would just tell me if it is, I'd go quietly, honest
I think it must be me, here's my reasoning..
I post most here, other people post now and again but I post most evenings, therefore I have more posts than anybody else (don't know about in the past, but I have most posts here in recent history)
In this board's history, the main posters were first of all, Monica, then when she left, kamar......and in their time, people answered and the board was mostly busy (maybe quiet times, but never as quiet and boring as this)
But now, it's barely alive..........IS it me? why do people read but never post? somebody TELL me  |

Of course it not you Moll, it is what you stand for....steadfastness in the face of adversity, the stiff British upper lip and all you know....it is as boring as having high noon tea following centuries scultered protocol finally set in stone to become a mountain slowly being eroded by those that used to be here like they are just the lappings of waves at a solid shoreline. They the sea, forming gaining power then expending themselves upon the fair shores of your protocol Moll;)
I reckon the lack of people here is more likely that people are longing more for perverted means of excitement than using others to provide some kind of limit to the depths of depravity they can find themselves in.
I was thinking today, without any form of structure to contain us into acceptable limits, would it be possible as an individual to withstand what others have finally been perverted into accepting and practicing, would they not want to then feed on me because I do not wish to partake in what they want. Because if I was not the same as them, they would see me as censuring them, but it would not be me doing that, but the guiltiness of their own hearts recognizing what I may stand for (that is just an example...me, I am not a great example but I still try to stand for what I know is right)
If we were to become lewd and witty, and casually accept things of perversion as if we were trying to push back a wall of the virtious few trying to protect themselves with a disciplined wall, people would flood this place like mind infected virus and bacterial mudslides |

I hear what you're saying, Roughshod........I'm a boring old fart
I never thought I had a 'stiff upper lip' though....if anything, the opposite, bit of a drama queen...
I remember when we came back from our first trip to Egypt and I was all desperate to find out more about it, so I looked on the internet and found a couple of boards (this was 8 years ago)
One of them, I can't remember what it was now, was a few people who seemed to know each other pretty well and they were just chatting about their kids and the new dress they'd just bought or something  and I remember thinking, Well that seems like a pretty closed circle, won't bother trying to break into that....and anyway I was too scared to post on the internet because I'm really quite shy  then I joined ES and got addicted and I realised you could post any old rubbish and nobody would really care...
but I just looked at the last topic here, and it's had 113 views but only one reply......is that what's wrong here? that people think it's a closed circle and new people wouldn't be welcome?
I just really don't get it  |

Or they could be like me, STILL waiting to get internet in the apartment and can only snatch minutes here at work. :)
So what is the solution? Don't talk about anything personal so that new people don't feel left out?
No this is one of the better forums and I will definitely respond more - promise. |

I don't know what the solution is, Harrison  it's hard not to talk about personal things, because they're the things that happen to you that make you wonder what other people think....
Hope you get connected soon, anyway 8) and when you do, PLEASE post more. |
