Absence makes the heart grow fonder as the saying goes. I would have to say that Raymond really wants Saffrons heart to get a way lot fonder it seems ;) And those of us checking everynow and then wondering if the sight will ever come online again and wondering if it really matters...well I for one was happy to see it come online again
Even if to see the mundane thoughts of people living in a mundane world...at least I could see them, not sit here just imagining my own .
The dynamics of a support system or community no matter how unproductive is the factthat interaction occurs, no matter how undynamic that may seem, the fact that people live and share seems to point to an overunity situation of boredom, where the input is derived from action from ones own sense of needing to pass time more efficiently, to the output of receiving all the sense of others needing to overcome the same problem.
So for whatever itis worth, I am glad YE is back on line for whatever reason |

Hello Roughshod
To tell you the truth, when I saw YE was back I wondered whether I was pleased or not :?: because I'd started getting used to it not being here and I discovered that actually my life was going OK without it.....
But it's like chocolate, if it's front of me I've got to eat it  and if someone (still don't know who) took the trouble to fix it then maybe somebody should post on it.
I am going to try not to be negative and keep my silly attempts at humour to myself this time, going to try and think up some topics and some of them might even be Egypt-related if I can think of any.
Anyway...........thank GOD it's Friday 8) |

Hmmm I don't even know what to write. I haven't been coming here much either. I have been on a lot of other sites and places though. Anybody want to know where? I will post the site here. it's super fun.

I know what you mean, I'm kind of stuck for something to post myself at the moment :(
Post other sites if you want, up to you.......
When YE was down I didn't really bother looking for anywhere else, just stuck to the 2 or 3 other places I've belonged to for a while and used it as a chance to kind of wean myself off boards....and now I'm a bit phobic about posting anywhere somehow, just got out of the habit of rambling on
Anyway, seems to me if this board is going to keep going, people will have to make a little bit of an effort.. |

Hey Moll. It seems for a forum to have any value one has to have contradictory points of interest that be discussed with a sense of aloof calmness or enthusiastic animosity for it to have any life.
Or perhaps similar points of interest to better understanding and ability to improve on what one already believes.
I never see that happening here anymore. No more are the nuances sometimes witty relating to the differences in our lives. No more the tolerance that we need at outbursts regarded as offensive by some. All that remains really is a static jelly wafting around on the waters of apathy and conforment to what is comfortable
The only exciting thing that happens is when this forum is off air.....wow, the final apathy? |

For crying out loud, Roughshod..........could you be any MORE negative?
I don't want to be on a forum where everything's discussed with 'aloof calmness', I can go into the staffroom at school any time for 'aloof calmness' :smt048 and I don't want 'enthusuastic animosity' either, I can just step out into the playground for a dose of that...
I just want a board where people actually write things, where you don't decide NOT to start a topic bcs you know it'll just sit there for days without a reply and make you feel like a t*t for starting it.... |

| and a board where it doesn't say 'last post by moll' on the last 7 topics, and you start thinking to yourself, oooops moll (bcs that's my real name  ) don't you think there's a message there for you? like shut up, nobody's interested? |

Topics like. today I got a cold...or the weather here is dismal....or my day was without any challenge...or I met a person today, he used to be my principle, but now I am 60 years old and he is 80 years old (well , that could be quite interesting). Mol!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
The point is that what your life is, is not the same as everyone elses, you in other words have something more to offer in the mundane delivery of it in a sacrifice to your Lord the creator of it.
Or is your creator really so very boring? |

Oh God, my brain's just seized up
Roughshod, I honestly do not know what you mean.......
Are you saying you DO want me (or people) to post about their mundane lives. or you DON'T want people to post about their mundane lives, or you want to start a discussion on religion, I honestly don't know what you mean.. |

Moll, there is no such thing as a mundane life if what you are doing feels right. What I am asking and observing acording to this forum and it seems timely death...is there life after death?. Is there life after our dissapointed expectations of it..when we the frontline have felt the brunt of the frontline of it.
What I am asking is this...is it possible that when the death of what we love occurs, that we as people can by our very life resurrect from the dead what we perceive we have lost, but in a new form.
even if those we have lost still live
Moll, all I do here is grieve over my own foolishness in youth. But I would love to see the success of others |

Yeah, well I know about grieving over your own foolishness....
I had a discussion with my class (8 year olds) about death today, I found it quite difficult  I tried to handle it as sensitively as I could, but wouldn't be surprised if there's a queue of mothers up to complain tomorrow about their children being upset :(
I don't make up the curriculum, I just have to deliver it  |

With my latest project I have had to grapple with terms of of entropy( giving of energy) and enthalpy(absorbing energy) and after going to a bar tonight, I wondered if it applied to human relationships
SoI looked at the bartenders huge *beep* and wondered if her fresh smile would allow her enthalpy at the exspense of my entropy and it struck me she doesn't care about energy values, she just wants to feel good.
And what will make her feel good is that I shouldbe about 20 years younger and then comment on the catalyst of her breasts upon my weakened system to use them as a catalyst to want to have sex.,mn
Anyway, I just finished my beer, and felt gratefull I never met a woman interested in me to perculate those ideas on a hot bed. |

Okay well I think that we should all try and keep this forum going. He will be back one day, Ray that is.
Here is where I go a lot. Plenty Of Fish
I've been at work a lot, so haven't seen much on here lately. I did go have a look on EM, it looks dead too.
I wonder, maybe I can go submit this site to a few search engines. |

Saffron, although all forums are different from each other either in content or perhaps belief etc, there always comes a threshold when the content of a forum becomes staid and recognizable in advance. The conversations either become inflammatory in frustration or totally homogenous in fitting with the forum and therefore boring. That fish forum may be different though because of the fact that at the height of interest if one finds a partner one will leave it since it has fullfilled its purpose;) If the purpose of a forum is to maintain a flow of idea and perhaps controversy in a well mannered and respectfull way then it will need good moderators. I would not advertize this site because the structure of control is missing.
Moll, bringing up my own children sometimes brought the wrath of god down on my head in the form of my exwife but if you manage to instill some form of self respect and independance of thinking in a child towards hard issues such as death or perhaps standing up for oneself etc, I would say that any flak doing so would be well worth the effort. Although some things in life are hard to digest...if one can help others realize even at a young age that these things happen and have to be dealt with,,,and you able to enhance a childs ability to realize that they themselves are not at the mercy of these events, but just innocent observers of it, I would say you are doing a fine job. |
