There are women like that in the UK too, who see either their children or the father of their children as a 'meal ticket' for life......and that makes me sick too. There are women here who have children, just as a kind of 'investment' in terms of child benefit, they give birth then they queue up to collect their state benefits without any genuine concern for the wellbeing of their families, they just see their children as an 'income'. I get so angry sometimes when I see people who seem to think that the act of giving birth is their bit done and after that, it's up to everybody else.....

Oh God don't get me started

yes it gets me going to and I don't even have kids. I remember my last roommate (when I had to live with a roommate), she asked me why I don't have any kids. I told her I don't want to be a single mother. She said that all I have to do is find a man with a good job. I told her that she didn't understand what I am saying. And again I said it kinda slower so she could get it, "I don't.....want to be a single mother". And then I told her that getting married and having kids here in California is fast ticket to poverty, for the mother. And then I'd be raising a kid by myself while the father would run off with a younger mother and breed more babies. And that is exactly what happened to her. But she still had her child support payments, alimony and got the house. :smt018 And all of this just brings me back to my original thought. It's good to have my own place, as I hated living with people who had such horrible morals and values. That in itself can ruin a person.

The entire system here in American, especially California, seems to create poor people and then the government goes off to other countries and helps them. I hate that.

There are benefits to being on your own, sometimes I think it would be quite nice :P

But I can't stand women who either see the act of giving birth as their bit done and then it's up to everybody else, OR better off women financially who see them as some kind of 'accessory' that they're supposed to have to make them seem like 'real women'....then they hand them over to a succession of nannies and au pairs to bring up.

I think in Egypt (trying to make it Egypt-related 8) ) this isn't such an issue, because the child is more likely to be brought up as a member of an extended family and the mother herself isn't as isolated as some women in the west are bringing up a family and if she ISN'T the type to take it seriously, if she's the kind of woman who can't handle the responsibility, then God help the baby
