Maybe if all of the Westerners go away then all of the Egyptians will come back and feel like this is their place again.

Maybe they would.........but I'd doubt it, I think the damage has been done.

A few minutes ago, I looked here and someone was logged in, maybe thinking about posting then thought better of it, like I quite often do, there is such an atmosphere of distrust and feeling like you're raising your head above the parapet by posting here..........either that, or feeling like you're making a t*t of yourself when days go past and nobody acknowledges your post.

That's not whiny, it's just the way it is here these days (for me, anyway).

In fact, every time I've posted here recently, whether it's been 'meaningful' or just plain silly, I've felt like deleting it the minute after I've posted it, like it's just stupid to post here.

And this is edited

For sure Saffron, a return to fantasy would be most refreshing, when a woman is a woman and a man is man and they know their place. Religion allows all the inequalities to be overlooked in religious fervour to do what is right in the sight of ones God. (and of course remember to pay the priest his dues to make it all happen)

Well, maybe I as a westerner have taken to the concept that we all should be free to be who we are able to be without the egyptian concept that power should be wielded by man and then borne out in constructive labour by the woman who yields all her skills subject to a man, who deems it his right by submitting to his God in return.

Saffron, you certainly have shown no strength as a woman to the constructive upbuilding of a civilization to convince me you have anything decent to offer an egyptian forum or any other for that matter

Well Saffron, I am so glad you answered as you did :). If you had answered intelligently I would have been forced to apologize to you.

I opened up YE tonight with more than a little trepidation, wondering how you would answer. When I saw what you had written I felt immense relief.

You are certainly what I think you are ( and I have had my sheets wet by those like you that I have tried to help ;) )and you most certainly have wet my sheets this time with your lack lustre self involved answer.

So hereby observe that you are no longer an entity I wish to have any association with..blah blah blah ...

Wish you'd flippin' thought of that before you provoked her, Roughshod.......

Anyway, your previous post

Aren't you kind of contradicting yourself? I'm not exactly sure what you think a woman's place is :?

There are MANY things about being an Egyptian woman that would drive me crazy........but let me tell you, sometimes being a woman in THIS country isn't all it's cracked up to be either.

There are two sides to every coin..

I would say Moll, that a woman defined by her religion is a lesser woman than is actually defined by her skills

I would say that ANY person is defined by how they treat others, and their religion or their skills are just an extension of that.

How many people are nominally Christian or Muslim or whatever, and treat other human beings like sh*t? how many people are highly skilled, and treat other people like they're beneath them?

As far as I'm concerned, how you treat other people is a measure of your worth.........and that goes for men AND women.

Now I remember why I stopped posting here.
It doesn't seem as if anything has changed. Why can't people either be nice or not post at all.
Isn't life sometimes difficult enough without carrying on like this in a forum?

Maybe, maybe not............how can you be so sure? and saffron, be honest.......would YOU have posted the things you did if he HAD been here?

The fact is, raymon ISN'T here, so it's up to anybody who IS still here to stop this constant squabbling amongst ourselves since there's nobody here to keep the peace when one of these stupid pointless fights breaks out.

I admit there have been times when I've been in there myself, I used to quite enjoy a little online battle now and again  but I'm pretty tired of it all now. If you two (saffron and Roughshod) want to keep it up, fine, go ahead......just understand that you're killing it for everybody and even I have pretty much stopped caring if this board dies or not.
