This is from "almashriq" yahoo group :
In Darfur.............
you have mainly two groups of people :
the first group is black-Muslim-Sudanese
and the other group is Muslim-Sudanese-black,
while the central-Government is Sudanese-Muslim-black .
This nuance is relevant just to avoid any confusions, later-on.
Those getting killed are called the " victims"
and those winning the killings are called "Arab-militias"
by the International Media , of course .
Any killing is bad ,
but why to blame the Sudanese-government
for helping its loyal-tribes instead of helping
the opposition-tribes ??
Do you know any government, on this planet ,
that helps its own opposition ??
Do you know any Media , on this planet ,
that is honest ??
Do you know of any civil-war without victims ??
Do you know if there were no Oil ,
under Darfur's soil ??
and if Oil is soon found ,
would the USA treat the Darfurians , as being Kurds ??
or the Darfurians may remain as " Arabs " .

This Raja Chemayel bloke (who calls himself a Christian) seems to be making excuses for the mass murder that is being perpetrated in the Darfur region by the Janjaweed militias with the connivance of the Sudanese government.
Also, if oil was discovered in Darfur, what is the probability that one of America's experts might discover a weapon of mass destruction buried under the sand of the Saharan desert? It would probably only be a pen-knife (made in Hong Kong), not a hydrogen bomb (made in Tehran). |

There is oil in Darfur. Loads of it.
Minerals too.
The West has known about it for years.
French and British companies had mining rights but declined due to human rights issues.
Here's one link of many

P.S. If it was all about oil, the US would have just gone straight in and obliterated Saudi Arabia.
Wouldn't that have been more logical, and far easier ? |

Hoss, what is riches?, is it a powerbase that allows one to interfere against others for ones own gain? Or to control some form of resource that will make one king?
Explorer, you say much the same, but you are critizising your UK government then to say what measures they may take to gain it.
But is that not the way it is, the strongest try to keep themselves strong with the resources of the weak |
