Watching the documentary I thought it was more suspensful than any movie,or other documentary I've seen to be honest. Who else here watched it last year, and like me was super-glued to his or her seat even when infomercials were on

I also remember at the very end, they said there would be a follow up documentary about the find. Does anyone know when exactly? Is there a site that I can go to to find out? :?:

 unbelieveable...two hundred and something individuals have read my post and nobody even made an attempt to at least say you didn't know. I'd like to infrom everyone that some of us live in places where topics like these aren't really discussed much, and hardly ever mentioned in the media which is why I requested to know more about the follow up KV63 documentary.

In any case, if it's such a terrible topic to talk about then why doesn't everyone make it clear to incoming members, and not have us waste our precious time coming to this here site when I could have spent those minutes fixing up my garden or something.

well...thanks anyway :D

Well there are many reasons why you did not get an answer

Its possible nobody saw the program or
they dont know the answer to your question
but what is more likely is that
people cant be bothered to answer you
why would we answer your quetsion
Did you contribute at all to YE ?
after all this is a forum not a help desk

In the past when I still cared for this site I helped countless people here
often without not even getting a thank you
I will not be surprised if we never heard from you either again

:? Why cant people use the net to find the answers ?

OK I help you
its a pleasure

btw It took me 2 minues 2 find the answer
it took longer to log in YE and post it :x

Looks like you missed the program but I am sure they show a repeat

Oh Winky , I loved the way you helped me out...until I got too weird and you dropped me like a sack of red hot ashes.

You have your viewfinder of focusing on what is wrong that perhaps you cajn help to make right..Unfortunately your depth of field is too narrow to realize all the wrongs that could be made right if your focus had a wider depth of field.

You just seem to mirror Js_flute whatever.

You find my dear CapeTown such a wonderfull place, have you ever wondered why I, the product of this place do not always reflect the beauty of it?

It is because the beauty of a place does not make a person beautifull, and let me add, the person who finds it beautifull is not not necesarily beautiful, and in that respect I don't care how good you may look, I try to divine your heart

Hello, and hello to everyone else,

Alright, I know I do not know you and I'm sorry, but number one that is just plain rude of you to say, because I am a new member and who on this green earth are you to possibly judge me for what other members have or haven't done. And number two, didn't you ponder and think that maybe some people don't have access to view certain sites, these are computers they're not perfect you know. I'll just leave it at that.

js_pinkflute,
There has been a previous thread about the same topic :

http://youregypt.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6665&start=0

http://www.kv-63.com/pages/1/index.htm

You also probably noticed that this forum isn't as active as it used to be...There are several factors behind this, that you would only get to know about when you read through older threads...
Anyway, I guess nobody answered due to unawareness about the topic..nevertheless one never ceases to learn as long as he lived...
Bear in mind also that the time you posted your inquiry, different threads kept coming in and probably your thread disappeared before many people saw it...

Cheers

js_pinkflute, can I ask you something? how many topics have you read here? because I don't see any replies you've made to other people with questions, saying you don't know the answers, or agreeing or disagreeing with a point of view........so either you haven't even bothered to read anybody else has posted, or you've done what you're accusing other people of doing and haven't bothered answering because you're not that interested in the topic.

Maybe Winky WAS rude in her reply to you (and I've got to say, that doesn't really happen very often, she's usually quite polite :P ) but I can quite understand why she said what she did........like me, she's probably just frustrated at the lack of participation here when so many people read but don't post. But at least Winky participates, she doesn't make a grand total of 2 posts (and the second one's just to complain about nobody answering the first one)....so I'm not surprised she was a bit stroppy to you

PS Please send me £100

Hi,

I understand your point, but you should consider that I don't know anyone here, and yet I registered anyway. In my opinion that is a form of participating. If I weren't interested in participating I would have never even bothered to register, and just post my comment as " Guest ". Also, I have read quite a few topics, mostly in the History/Arch. section, I haven't contributed to answereing any of them because I just got here (well, at that time I did), though when I saw HOW VERY FRIENDLY EVERYONE WAS..... .......I decided not to come back and waste my time some more. Also, I don't your friend, but I wasn't trying to be a grump and make him/her seem like a fool, I was only making a point. I know this is a forum and not a service desk, I just thought this was a place to talk about anything that happens in Egypt, and I thought I would share my comments about the tv/documentary about the discovery of KV63. But well, I guess not.

One more thing I'd like to add, we can't expect people to spend hours and hours chatting in a message board, people have lives, and jobs to attend. So if registered users don't come back for a while it could be for many reasons (ex. probably busy, working, traveling, cooking, smoking, screaming, ect ect)..you get the point.

Thanks everyone for the links.

js_pinkflute

I apologise
I posted on the spur of the moment :(
I normally ponder, before I post something like that , but had no time to do so last night
it takes ages for me to log in and post
and
I had an important day today needed to get in bed early
so in this case posted it and turned off my computer

:) Believe me
I would have been my sweet little helpful self
as Moll already kindly mentioned

(I will gladly pay you for that Moll :P

)

pinkflute,if you had caught me on another day I would just have posted the links for you (as I did above ) without further comment
but to be honest
I would also have noticed the time of you joining and the fact that you only made 2 posts ....
So I would not have added my "Welcome on board"
expecting you to disappear into the sunset again

Pinkflute :?
If...

As you say you did read threads, then you must have noticed that
-There are very few posters here (but plenty of readers) so you would quickly have sussed out who is who..
-We would have been overjoyed if you had joined and participated
-We would have warmly welcomed you :)

But you know  it works 2 ways ...
participate
try us ;

Oh and this reminds me

:P An Irish friend of mine would have said ;
Are you trying to teach your Granny how to suck eggs ?
meaning we already know all about the subject
infact totally exausted it :(

Finally :) I hope you were able to read that the follow up program was;
King Tut's Mystery Tomb Opened premieres on the Discovery Channel, Sunday, July 9, at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

"One doesn't bite the hand who feeds it"
You never heard that one Rough ? :?

You started attacking me out of the blue
as many YE members probably recall too
Using foul language and insulting me
Stating facts which were based on nothing
since I never told you ONE teeny little bit about myself
It was all about you remember ?
And rightly so, since you needed a helping hand which I gladly gave
but some people don't want to be helped
so be it

 I suggest you find yourself an angel with an elephant skin
and hopefully she is deaf and blind too
so she cant hear your charming use of language when you are drunk

Well, js_pinkflute..........I'm sorry this place hasn't measured up for you and that you don't feel people here are friendly

I think the problem is (as Hoss said) people on this board are a bit down just now, but also there's not a huge interest in Ancient Egypt here, as you can see most topics in this section don't get much response (if you want to PM me, I can give you a couple of boards where you'd probably find more interest) but to be honest, I don't look here often and I'm not even sure what KV63 is but I assume it's a tomb

But at least you hung around long enough to enter into a bit of a discussion :thumleft:

You're right, it is a tomb. And it's too bad nobody watched, but if you do have the time you should. If I had time to watch the re-runs I would, but I'm looking forward to that follow-up they said they would have about the artifacts that were found.

I haven't really heard much about it, and I have tried to go to dicovery.com, but the only thing that comes up on the screen is Error-run time expired, or this page can not be found, and the ever so great loading for what seems like an hour (probably because of the internet traffic).

That can't be a premiere, that is the one I watched last year. It's the one when they first enter that room, and they're all cluttered up in there, and they begin removing those huge things one at a time. And they had to very carefully, and the suspense was overwhelming! Then at the very end they said there would be another one in 2007.
